API 607-Fire Safety Approved

Kingdom soft-seated ball valves (2-PC Body, Flang Ends, Series KV-060 and Series KV-L60) conform to Fire Safe Tests of API 607 Fifth Edition and ISO 10497. Our product can seal properly during the fire and after the accident, reduce inside and outside leakage of pipeline fluids, and prevent environment pollution (even on fire) resulted from flammable or other fluids in the pipeline.

Design Features:

1. Secondary Metal Seat to Ball Contact:
During fire, soft seats (such as TFM1600, PTFE, RTFE...) will burn up and lose supporting and sealing functions. Then the ball moves free downstream due to pressure from upstream, and contacts secondary metal seats of Body or End Cap, which comes to a leakage prevention (see figures #1 and #2).

2. Grafoil Body Gaskets can endure high temperatures and remain unaffected, and eventually prevent fluid leakage to the exterior. Moreover, the connection of Body and End Cap Flange maintain metal to metal contact by Stud Bolts screwed into body (see figures #3 and #4).

3. Grafoil Packing can endure high temperature and remain unaffected during fire and prevent fluid leakage to the exterior (see figures #5 and #6).

Metal Seated Ball Valves

Metal seated ball valves use a metal seat rather than regular TFM1600, PTFE, and RTFE ball seat to improve its sealing ability for fire-safety. The conical design in the body allows metal ball still have a sealing contact against body after fire. Grafoil body gaskets can endure high temperature and won¡¦t melt during the fire. Thus, it could prevent the leakage. So does grafoil packing ¡V it can prevent leakage from the top.

The General Usage of Valves

The commodity valves, such like ball valve, globe valve, gate valve, butterfly valve, gate valve and needle valve, are mainly used for adjusting, stopping, and, of course, allowing the fluid flow. The other special valves, such as check valve, solenoid valve, red valve, air-release valve, isolating valve are used for maintaining and controlling the piping system. When you choosing a valve, its purpose, piping system, equipment, and fluid matter all need to be taken into consideration. Steam, air, water, gas, oil, etc. could lead to different pressure rating and structural demand, thus what kind of valve you should use.

Globe valve ¡V A globe valve could accurately control the flow rate. The fluid matter could be various.

Ball valve ¡V A ball valve could allow or stop the flow. It can control the flow rate, however, by doing this will shorten the lifetime of a ball valve. The fluid matter could be water, air, gas, oil, and pharmaceuticals.

Plug valve, eccentric plug type ¡V A plug valve could adjust the flow rate with low accuracy. Usually when using plug valve, itis either fully opened or fully closed. The fluid matter is water and muddy mass.

Butterfly valve ¡V A butterfly valve is used to allow and stop the flow. It can only fully open or fully close. The feature of butterfly valve is that a butterfly valve could open and close rapidly. The fluid matter is water and air mostly.

Gate valve ¡V A gate valve is used for fully opened or fully closed.

Check valve ¡V It allows only one way flow of fluid. It is common seen at the side of water tower in house, water heating pipeline and so on.

Usage

There are two types of three way ball valves, T-Port and L-Port. T-Port could cut off one flow way out of total three ways and thus could serve the purpose to separate or combine the flows. L-Port three way ball valve could only allowing two ways connected. Its purpose is to separate the flow.

Caution

A ball valve cannot serve the purpose to adjust flow rate. Therefore, please also don¡¦t use a three way ball valve to adjust flow rate.
